Her Majesty The Queen, (1926-2022)
With great sadness and heavy hearts, we mark the death of our Patron, Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, on 8th September 2022.
Queen Elizabeth II 1926-2022
Queen Elizabeth II, the UK's longest-serving monarch, has died at Balmoral aged 96, after reigning for 70 years. In a statement, Buckingham Palace said: "The Queen died peacefully at Balmoral this afternoon."
The Master, Wardens, Court and Members of The Honourable Company of Master Mariners are deeply saddened to learn of the death of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth, Patron of the Honourable Company from October 1952 until her death. The Master of The Honourable Company has sent a letter of condolence to the Royal Family. As Queen, Her Majesty was the Master of the Merchant Navy and Fishing Fleets and therefore, her loss will be felt most especially by all who go down to the sea in ships.

As we mourn the end of a Royal era and of a monarch who has overseen more societal change in our country than any other in history, we will sorely miss Her Majesty’s leadership, statesmanship and our country's greatest public servant. Thank you, Ma'am.

Her reign saw the world change dramatically, but she remained a constant presence in the lives of the people of the UK and Commonwealth.
